Meet Samantha Gibson, RP
Registered Psychotherapist, New Leaf Therapeutic Services
Samantha Gibson is a Registered Psychotherapist (RP) and the founder of New Leaf Therapeutic Services in Oshawa, Ontario. She holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from McGill University.
Samantha’s practice focuses primarily on supporting neurodivergent youth and young adults (ages 12+). Her work centres on helping clients with ADHD, autism, and other forms of neurodivergence build emotional regulation skills, reduce anxiety, and strengthen self-understanding and communication.
She also specializes in addictions counselling, using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), with a particular interest in the intersection between neurodivergence and substance use in both youth and adults. Samantha’s approach is grounded, direct, and down-to-earth, offering clients a safe space to explore challenges, build resilience, and foster growth and connection.
In her earlier training, Samantha completed her clinical practicum at The Turning Point Counselling Services under the supervision of Paul Lavergne, RP, CSAT, where she provided counselling for individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, relational conflicts, and behavioural issues. She also led group therapy sessions on boundary setting, attachment, and assertiveness training.
