8 week program consisting of 8 sessions, held once weekly from 4:30-6pm.
What is this program about:
The Job Skills Group is an 8-week program designed for teens and young adults ages 15+ to build confidence and prepare for employment/volunteer opportunities. Through structured lessons, interactive activities, and guided practice, participants learn practical strategies for entering the workforce, including resume writing, job searching, interview skills, and professional communication.
This supportive, hands-on program helps participants gain the knowledge, confidence, and real-world skills they need to succeed in their first jobs and beyond.
What will my child learn?
Participants will develop a range of employment and work readiness skills, including:
Work readiness skills – understanding workplace expectations, professionalism, and responsibilities
Resume development – creating a clear, effective resume that highlights skills and experiences
Job/Volunteer search strategies – identifying opportunities, applying online or in-person, and following up professionally
Interview skills – practicing common questions, professional communication, and self-presentation
Teamwork and collaboration – working effectively with supervisors and peers
Time management and organization – planning tasks, meeting deadlines, and managing schedules
Problem-solving and workplace etiquette – responding appropriately to challenges and maintaining professional conduct
Confidence and self-advocacy – expressing strengths, asking for support when needed, and navigating workplace interactions
