Build, Create, Connect (STEM)

13-14 week program consisting of 13-14 sessions, held once weekly from 4:30-6pm.

What Is This Program About?

Our Build, Create, Connect group brings together hands-on STEM activities and social skill development in a fun, engaging environment. Through science experiments, engineering challenges, coding, design projects, and creative problem-solving, learners have the opportunity to explore new ideas while working alongside their peers.

As learners build, create, and discover together, they naturally practice important social skills such as communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and flexible thinking. Every session is designed to encourage curiosity, build confidence, and create meaningful opportunities for connection in a supportive and inclusive group setting.

Who Is It For?

This group is designed for school age children and adolescents (ages 10–13) who enjoy exploring science, technology, engineering, and mathematics or are interested in developing these skills through hands-on activities. It is ideal for learners who benefit from practicing collaboration, communication, and problem-solving with peers in a structured, supportive environment. Groups are formed with learners of similar ages and abilities to encourage participation and meaningful peer interactions.

What Will Your Child Learn?

In our Build, Create, Connect Group, learners build STEM knowledge while strengthening important social and executive functioning skills through engaging, hands-on activities, including:

  • Teamwork and Collaboration – Learning to work with others by sharing ideas, taking turns, dividing tasks, and working toward a common goal.

  • Communication Skills – Practicing asking questions, sharing ideas, active listening, giving feedback, and expressing thoughts with peers.

  • Problem-Solving – Developing strategies to work through challenges, generate solutions, and make decisions as part of a team.

  • Flexible Thinking – Learning to adapt when plans change, consider different perspectives, and try new approaches when something doesn't go as expected.

  • Planning and Organization – Building executive functioning skills by planning projects, organizing materials, following multi-step directions, and managing time.

  • Self-Advocacy – Learning to ask for help, share preferences, communicate needs, and contribute ideas during group activities.

  • Perspective-Taking – Building an understanding of others' ideas, opinions, and approaches while working together on shared projects.

  • Emotional Regulation – Practicing strategies to manage frustration, excitement, and disappointment while completing challenging tasks with peers.

  • Creativity and Innovation – Encouraging curiosity and confidence by designing, building, testing, and improving creative solutions through hands-on STEM activities.
