Community Outings

7-week program consisting of 7 sessions, held once weekly.

What is this program about:

Community Outings is a structured, staff-supported group that promotes independence while encouraging meaningful peer interaction. Participants engage in real-life community experiences (e.g., grocery stores, fast food restaurants, public transit, and fun community locations) with guidance that is gradually faded to support independent skill use.

Through hands-on practice, participants build confidence navigating everyday situations while connecting with peers of similar ages. Sessions focus on developing social skills in natural environments, including initiating interactions, making choices, and participating appropriately in group outings, all within a supportive setting that fosters both independence and friendship.
